Valentine Engagement Session

Can you think of anything more romantic than a Valentine engagement session?  O.K, it is a close second to a Valentine proposal, but a very close second!  Over Valentine’s weekend I got to spend some time capturing an engagement session for one of the sweetest most joyful couples I’ve ever met! Alex and Geoff are so delightful!  Alex literally jumped up and down at a of couple ideas!  It was a beautiful snowy morning where we had so much fun we almost didn’t even notice the cold!

 

Their Story

The first email I received from Alex, she bubbled over with enthusiasm!  Geoff’s family moved into the area their junior year of high school.  Alex and Geoff initially met at church, but also had a class together at their high school.  They started dating the winter of that year, and have been together ever since. They clearly enjoy each other and have so much fun together!  It was a delight to watch them laugh and giggle their way through their engagement session!   This spring they will graduate from college with degrees in nursing and mechanical engineering.  Then at the beginning of June, they’ll be married!

They’ll go into marriage well prepared.  They took a marriage class at their university last year.  They wanted a more in-depth/insightful experience in preparing for marriage so they are meeting with a mentor couple from their church.  I’m so impressed by their dedication to their marriage before it even begins.

 

Beach Proposal

But I got a bit ahead of myself, because you can’t have an engagement blog post with out the proposal story…..  On a Friday this past September, Geoff and Alex took a trip to Silver Beach Michigan.  It’s a favorite place of theirs that has special meaning to him.  At the end of the day they walked down the beach where Geoff proposed!  He had even arranged to have her sister there taking pictures!  Then he washed her feet to start their engagement off with service.  Oh my goodness!  That is so sweet and meaningful!   Geoff, you certainly set the bar high for all future proposals!!!
