It was a beautiful fall day, when Megan and her mom met me for her Metea park fall senior session. Megan had seen Metea Park on my blog, and liked it so much she wanted to have her own senior session there. Metea is so beautiful, especailly in the fall! The tall grasses at Metea had been cut down in the spring,. I checked with some other local photographers who had visited there recently, to make sure the grasses had grown back. Still, I wasn’t completlely sure what to expect. I was thrilled to see just how lush and tall the grasses had grown in over the summer!
When applying to be a 2022 Senior Rep Megan shared that her dream photo shoot would take place in ” in nature type scenery.” Metea Park is a photographers dream with the wide variety of textures and foilage! Our shoot started out with a blip! When I sent Megan’s mom directions, I sent directions for Metea North! Even though I’ve been there sesveral times, I didn’t know Metea Park had two seperate entrances! Thankfully, I used the same directions and we ended up in a trail parking lot presumably on the north side of the park. We were able to quickly drive to the correct entrance and I learned something new! 🙂 Still wondering when Google maps added this extra option to Metea?
Once we were back on track, we explored the park together and took advantage of as many different types of scenery as possible. We started on my favorite wooded path. Megan was fabulous right from the start! She had so much fun with the leaf toss set!
I always encourage seniors to incoporate things that are meaningful to them into their session. That might be a location, equipment, books, etc. Megan choose to incorporate her faith and her dancing into her session. She has danced ballet for several years, and this year is part of a new performing company. She shared that she is really enjoying the new performing company. We captured images of her in her pointe shoes and doing a few dance poses. She also included her Bible in a couple sets. We were even able to capture her favorite verse in a few images!
I could shoot in tall grasses all. day. long! Metea has tall fall grasses in abundance. It is a beautiful place to just stand and drink in God’s beauty! Megan was such a good sport! She didn’t mind at all walking through the tall grasses and sitting on the ground to get some awesome shots. We we so fortunate to have some sun, and also some cloud cover. The cloud cover allowed us to shoot in any direction and capture the beautiful fall colors as a backdrop!
Megan has such a beautiful grace about her. A beauty that shines from the inside out. It has been such a blessing getting to know her a bit over the school year. I can easily see why her friends love her so much! Thank you for spending an afternoon with me Megan! Sit back and enjoy a sneak peek of her beautiful fall senior session!
