Fall Micro Wedding
Stephanie and Kyle got married on a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon. Theirs was one of the most intimate and unique ceremonies I’ve ever had the honor or capturing! They were married at their local courthouse at noon, and then had a private fall micro wedding at Old Mill Park with their children.
When I arrived Stephanie, had everything ready for me to get started photographing the details. When we met beforehand, she suggested photographing the dress at the cabin where they planned to have the ceremony. I marveled at how trusting they were as I loaded all, and I do mean ALL their wedding paraphernalia into my car to take to the ceremony site to photograph. Their shoes, suits, dresses, rings, flowers, even their handwritten vows that they planned to exchange with one another, all went with me. I was abundantly thankful that they trusted me so completely! Having all their special items didn’t make me feel pressured, having someone standing over my shoulder while I’m photographing the brides dress, THAT would make me feel pressured! Note to all brides, I take the special care with each wedding dress knowing just how special it is to you!
Getting Ready
Kyle helped M get ready, buttoning his collar and tightening his tie, amid M’s 5 year-old antics. Kyle was ever patient and M’s affection for him was obvious! All dapper and ready to go, the guys headed to the ceremony site.
An avid sewer, Stephanie bought her wedding dress, then altered it to give it a more personalized look. The dress was beautiful with a lace underlay over pink satin. Her daughter C, helped Stephanie with the finishing touches, tying up the back of her dress. before heading to the ceremony site for a first look. While making alternations, Kyle had seen Stephanie in her dress. However, he hadn’t seen her all wedding day ready in her dress! After a brief first look Stephanie and Kyle exchanged personal handwritten vows with each other.
The Ties That Bind
Stephanie made three-stranded cords for herself and Kyle to use during their ceremony. They did a hand binding ceremony, to represent how they are bound together in marriage. (I hope I am remembering the ceremony name correctly.) The kids helped them bind their hands with the cords. They will keep the resulting knotted cords to commemorate their marriage ceremony.
Celebration
The family planned to spend the weekend away celebrating their marriage and having fun as a family. Sit back and enjoy a peak into Stephanie and Kyle’s fall mico wedding.
