Band Senior Session Huntington Indiana

Meet Jared!  He incorporated his passions into his senior band session in Huntington Indiana.  Of course, one of his passions is music!  He’s very active in his high school’s band program.  Jared has taken part in a concert band, marching band, pep band and winter drum line during his high school career!  Being a part of so many groups he consistently plays both the trombone and the baritone.  The baritone is use on the field during marching band when maneuverability and spacing are important.  The trombone is played during concert and pep band.  Of course, I asked him to play the trombone for me during these pictures! 🙂  It’s fascinating and amazing to me that the notes are the trombone are determined not by keys, but by how far the slide is extended.  I enjoyed the diversity of the dressed up formal band shots of Jared in his suit, and then his letter jacket representing marching band.

Jared aspires to be in law enforcement in his future career.  He has a deep respect for law enforcement and the sacrifice that they and their families make.  This led him to want to incorporate some image with the thin blue line flag into his session.   Some of my favorites from the session!   His mom and I both looked up etiquette for the thin blue line flag and found nothing.  Even though it is not an actual American flag, my Scouting family was quick to tell me (after the session), it should be treated as such.   Now I know, so I had to share this tip with you.

The most important pictures to Jared were the ones with his beloved dog Lily.  She did so well!  It was a delight to see her and Jared interact.  I can imagine the fun they have had together over the years.
