Keri reached out to me about a family session at the end of summer. Life happend, COVID happend… We were finally able to capture a beautiful fall family session the last week of October! The fall foilage at Ouabache was at it’s peak, providing a wonderful backdrop for Keri and her beautiful family!
When picture day arrived, we weren’t even sure it was actually going to happen. Rain was not in the forecasts, rain was not on the current weather report, but I stepped outside for my first session of the day and it was a cold miserable drizzle. Enough, not to be seen from inside, but definitely enough to be miserable and damaging to my camera, and the first session was cancelled. My second session was almost cancelled, but the drizzle cleared and we made it! 🙂 By the time Keri and her family arrived the day was a bit warmer and much clearer. Yay! We were able to get their family session in afterall!
As I was preparing for the session with Keri and her family, I was more nervous than normal. Keri is a photographer herself (although she doesn’t run a photography business) and to me, the pressure was really on! When I shared my nervousness with her (after the shoot) she was so sweet! She commented she likes my work and that’s why she wanted me to take their photos. 🙂 An abundance of warm fuzzies over here!
Keri is just an aboslutely sweetheart! I rember years ago, when I was shooting pictures where our daughters danced, and riding the background struggle buggy, actually that day, I wasn’t riding the sturggle buggy, I was being run over by it! She helped me out and I was so thankful! It was so fun to meet her husband and their kids, and puppy of course! Their teens were great! They range in ages from late middle school to late high school, and made my job so easy!
Their puppy was a hoot! Only one of the pictures has a headswap for the puppy in it! I was so thrilled we got everyone, including the puppy, looking at the camera and smiling, eyes open all at the same time! Such a great family and such a good dog!
Like me, Keri is a fan of tall grasses. So after we captured a couple sets with the beautiful fall colors, we headed for an area that potentially had tall grass. While we didn’t exactly find tall grasses, Keri liked the teasel and we wrapped up their session their.
Enjoy a sneak peek of their fun fally family session!
