High School Sweetheart Engagement Session

Home from college for fall break, Autumn and Drew’s high school sweetheart engagement session was so much fun!  I adore this couple so much!  They absolutely overflow with joy! So much so that when I received their wedding questionnaire, their excitement was almost tangible even through email!

They have such a great love story, I don’t even know where to start!  So let’s back up a looong way…..  It all started in 3rd grade when Autumn and Drew were in class together.  Autumn shared “I used to chase him on the playground because I thought he was cute.”   They continued to be friends and in middle school Drew asked her to be “his girlfriend.”  As Autumn so sweetly put it, “We have been dating ever since and have enjoyed growing up together and getting closer each day.”    

Growing together

I’ve been blessed to be a small part of Autumn’s life since she was a senior in high school.  She and Drew have done so much growing together.  After high school they headed off to Purdue where they both  live in the Christian campus houses.  They supported each other through the huge life transition that leaving home and going off to college can be,  and grew closer through the experience.

Engagement Week

Drew set the bar high, when he didn’t just plan a special day for their engagement, he planned an engagement week!  As Drew explained, “…it is almost impossible to keep a secret from Autumn. I knew that I couldn’t keep this a secret from her very long without her figuring something out so I decided to do an “engagement week” where I took her out every night for a week so she wouldn’t have any clue when I was going to pop the question. The day that I did ask her, I had one of our close friends take her out to dinner while I waited in the Stauffer’s barn for them to get back from dinner. It was all decorated with lights, and my dad made an arbor for us to be under! It was really a fantastic night, and one that I will never forget!”  Friends and family snapped pictures from the accentual proposal that they shared on social media.  They joy on their faces was really something special.   Confession, I squealed when I saw their post, I’m just so happy for them!

Love and Laughter

Autumn and Drew were such a joy laughing and loving on each other through their engagement session.  When asked what they were looking forward to most in their wedding pictures one Autumn mentioned was, “… we really like to laugh. I am also looking forward to taking lots of pictures with our wedding party. We have been blessed with a ton of close friends who love us so well, and I want to make sure that those memories are captured on our special day.”

 

Drew and Autumn I cannot wait for your special day this spring!  Thank you so much for sharing this special time in your life with me.  Here are just a few of my favorites!  It was so hard to narrow it down to just a few! 🙂
