You have got to pick up a copy of the latest Wedding Day Magazine that came out Friday! Over the summer I was blessed to take part in a styled shoot to promote The Blue Teal a Wakarusa wedding venue. It is a stunning venue with a unique combination or rustic and industrial traits. Finally I can share that the images from this amazing shoot are published in the latest issue of Wedding Day Magazine!

First let’s talk about the bridal suite! The Blue Teal Wakarusa wedding venue has a bridal suite that is every bride’s dream! It has a completely separate building for the ladies to prep for the big day in. The outside is adorned with flower boxes and a welcoming porch. Inside, enjoy a wall of mirrors , make-up lights, comfy chairs and even a small fridge. This is the ultimate getting ready space! And it’s even my favorite color, pale pink! As a photographer I loved the window light in the bridal suite for detail shots.
Next, we’ll head outside… If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony The Blue Teal’s patio is perfect! The chimney serves as an impressive backdrop for the bride and groom in the center of their wedding party. And of course it’s also a great place for bridal portraits!
Inside The Blue Teal reception hall somehow manages to simultaneously feel both spacious and cozy. The wooden beams, rustic light fixtures and the large fireplace give the reception hall it’s cozy intimate feel. While the high ceilings and large open space provide plenty of room for you and your guests to enjoy dinner and dance the night away.
Of course the food is absolutely amazing! The Blue Teal is owned and catered by Nelson’s BBQ and Catering. The have a full range of catering choices including their famous chicken (that is out of this world!), slow roasted prime rib and pasta. A few other choices jumped out at me also. They have butternut squash ravioli one of my favorites this time of year! They also offer a vegan entree, as well as plenty of vegetable options.
I could have photographed the amazing florals from this shoot all day long! Greg from the Urban Petal was fabulous to work with! The color combinations were stunning! The centerpieces and bridal bouquet he put together were beautiful! Even more impressive, when he saw the opportunity for another large arrangement near the fireplace, he quickly and easily put together a beautiful impromptu display! He also jumped in and pinned the boutonniere on the groom. It’s always wonderful to work with others who are focused on serving the bride and groom and makings sure the day goes smoothly. Well done The Urban Petal!
I love flowers and seriously I could have photographed these flowers all day!
