This sweet couple is amazing! They woke early on a one of their few days off and drove an hour to meet me for their spring engagement session. After months of communicating by email, and waiting through COVID, I was so excited to finally meet Carissa and Jonathan! They were fabulous and completely nailed their session!
Carissa and Jonathan met nearly two years ago at the young adult group at their church. Both interested from the start, it didn’t take long for them to become an official couple. This summer exactly two and a half years after they first met, will commit their lives to each other, in the place where it all began, their church in Indianapolis. Jonathan works at the church where he is the Facility and Production Associate Director. It’s so special that they are getting married here! Jonathan’s grandparents were married in that building in 1958, long before it was the church that it is today. Carissa and Jonathan call it a “legacy of love!”
This past October, Carissa went to the Covered Bridge Festival with some of the women in Jonathan’s family. As they were leaving the pulled off the side of the road. At first, Carissa thought they were lost–they had gotten lost several times that day. Then Jonathan walked out of the woods! He walked her down a bridge that he had decorated with lights and pictures of them. At the end of the bridge Jonathan knelt down in a ring of red roses, Carissa’s favorite, and asked her to marry him! How romantic! Carissa said, “it was perfect!”
Carissa is incredibly organized!!! As a grad student Carissa is working toward her Doctor of Physical Therapy, and at the same time planning a very elegant princess style wedding. I have been so impressed with her wedding planning and attention to detail! I cannot wait to see what she has created for their special day! With Christ at the center of their relationship Jonathan and Carissa have spent time preparing for marriage beyond, the wedding planning. One facet of that was completing Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, in preparation for life as a married couple. This course is amazing and such a good foundation to have starting marriage and blending their lives, including finances.
We met at Mounds State Park for Jonathan and Carissa’s spring engagement session, also where here parents had their engagement session , years ago. As we walked through the park and some surrounding areas we enjoyed getting to know each other a bit. Enjoy a few images from their beautiful spring engagement session! Carissa and Jonathan I can’t wait for your wedding this summer!
