Rustic Summer Wedding

What a ride it’s been for Alex and Geoff over the past three months!  Just a couple months before they were set to wrap up their college careers and graduate, they were suddenly sent home by their university in Ohio. They completed their degrees online, like most of their peers.  They received diplomas in the mail.   Amid all the chaos and unknown Alex and Geoff hoped and prayed, a lot, that they would be able to have their  wedding as planned.    Alex and Geoff  were so fortunate! They were able to celebrated their marriage with a beautiful rustic summer wedding, as planned!

 

Sweet Reunion

On Thursday Alex and Geoff’s friends gathered to celebrate their wedding weekend.  After leaving Cedarville University, suddenly  due to COVID, they were so thankful to be together again!  They didn’t wait to get in the building to start catching up, instead began talking as soon as they arrived lingering in the parking lot, slowly making their way inside.  It was beautiful to watch their friends and family gather to support and celebrate them in this next step in their marriage.

Before the ceremony their attendants prayed over each of them for their future marriage.   The groomsmen gathered around Geoff and each one offered up prayers for his role as husband and his future with Alex.   All of the bridesmaids surround Alex upstairs and offered up similar prayers for her.  I was moved to tears!  What a blessing to enter into your marriage, not just with the prayers of your minister, and family, but with the prayers of each of your 17 closest friends!

 

Sentimental Details

I love how personal wedding details are!  Alex carried a tiny dried rose from her mom’s wedding flowers in her own bouquet, as well as a piece of lace from her mom’s wedding gown in her dress.  A small hope chest full of moments  and milestones they shared together was such a sweet wedding gift.  Alex was absolutely adorable in her excitement in sharing with Geoff a gift he had given to her.   I’m guessing a bit here.  I was taking pictures, not intruding on their personal moment.  But they were so adorable!

 

Just Married….

Alex and Geoff were such a fabulous couple!  I think Alex  literally studied her bridal guide!  As we talked about the timeline and made tweaks, she asked to make sure we had time for some just married photos, because those “sounded like fun.”   I’m so glad she did!  The light was amazing and they were so sweet together!  I could go on and on and Alex and Geoff.  They were so much fun and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to get to know them.

I’m impressed by their commitment to Christ, their marriage and each other.  Shortly before their wedding, Alex was stressing, but working to focus on the fact they were getting married “to serve Christ better together than the could separately.”   I’m so proud of them and their approach to marraige and the foundation they have worked to build over the past two years for a successful marriage.
