Rosewood and Charcoal Wedding

When you think mid-August wedding, of course you think, hot!  Thankfully Tracy and James had fabulous weather the day of their rosewood and charcoal wedding at Orchard Ridge Country Club.  Not like the weather we are having today, where you step outside, and instantly begin to sweat!

 

The Details

Tracy chose bridesmaids dresses by Bill Levkoff in rosewood, such a beautiful and sophisticated color.  The color paired nicely with the charcoal suits worn by the groom and groomsmen.  The flowers Tracy and James chose were lovely pink and white roses and hydrangeas.  I loved their flowers so much!

When I met James heading into the day, I noticed he was more relaxed than I had seen him before.  His response was awesome!  “This is our party, why not be relaxed!”  The beginning of the day flew by, as the bride and groom spent time with their friends getting ready for the day.

 

The Ceremony

Before it even seemed possible, it was time for the ceremony.  Tracy and James chose to share a traditional wedding day without a first look.  James, stood at the front of the ceremony site anxiously awaiting the appearance of his bride.  He kept looking for her with such a big smile on his face.  It was quite sweet.

 

The Reception

After the short ceremony, it was on to family formals, wedding party pictures, dinner, and a party.  James and Tracy stay so busy with work it was wonderful to see them let down and have lots of fun with their friends.  I have to give a huge shout out to Scott DeMarko with Fort Wayne Party for playing a great selection of music that kept the guests dancing all evening!

 

There are so many wonderful things during a wedding day.  One thing that isn’t often mentioned are the special moments during the reception.  This wedding had several of them.  Grandma dacncing with a few of her grandsons, good friends dancing together and my favorite Tracy dancing with her grandpa.  Grandpa needed a walker to walk, but he made a special request for a dance with the bride.  It was so sweet with a bridesmaid standing close by for support.  There are so many reasons I love being a wedding photographer, and these little moments are just some of them.
