Senior Session in Downtown Fort Wayne

Alyssa was so excited for her senior session in downtown Fort Wayne!  We went on an adventure for her session, because neither of us are super familiar with downtown Fort Wayne!   It turns out,  I actually know the area a little better than I thought.  🙂

 

Let’s go this way…

We were able to find a free parking lot to meet up in, then we set out.  Let’s go this way!  We pulled up Google maps, which was surprisingly not helpful!  We quickly found Headwaters Park.  Who doesn’t love their beautiful water fountain?  Alyssa rocked her session from the very begining!  We used the water fountain as a backdrop.  Then found flowers almost exactly the color of her shirt!  We also found a huge wasp (seriously it was probably 2 incheds long!) on the flowers.  We talked bugs and flowers and the wasp left us a lone.

 

As we walked through Headwaters Park, we noticed along with the flowers they had planted a vegetable garden.  There was cabbage, kale,  Swiss Chard, and broccolini.  We had no idea if it was all ornamental or a community garden people could pick from, but it was really neat!

 

Managing it all…

Alyssa came super prepared with all her clothes and props together in a tote.  While I carried my camera, she carried her bag every where with us.  Alyssa is used to being prepared!  She manages her high school volleyball and boys basketball teams.    She wanted to be sure to capture her team nickname on the back of her sweatshirt.  Not only does the team call her Lyss, she said it’s started to become a school-wide nickname, too.

 

Along with managing sports teams, Alyssa works (a lot!), is involved in Campus Life, church and her youth group.  I’m not sure how she balances it all with schoolwork, but she always gets it done.  Some late nights, may or may not be involved.

 

Her faith and patriotism are also important to Alyssa so we had fun incorporating those into her shoot.  The courthouse plaza in downtown Fort Wayne was a great place to take some shots with her American flag!

 

Rooftop Adventures in Downtown Fort Wayne

Of course, we had to capture some rooftop images since we were downtown!  That was quite an adventure!  Alyssa had an audience on a balacony the next building over.  Honestly, I think I was more rattled than she was.  Then I got a Fort Wayne safety/security alert text, and thought they were hunting for an armed felon.  No it was a missing child!  No idea why that was listed as a safety alert vs. an Amber alert, but it certainly got my attention!  LOL!

 

Through it all Alyssa rocked her session and was totally chill!  Enjoy this sneak peak of our adventures!
