K + J | Engaged

Kaycee and Jeremy are engaged!  This couple is absolutely amazing!   Home from college for the summer, they maintained crazy work schedules that  left them little opportunity to spend time together.  Yet,  they still managed to fit in an engagement session.  It was an exceptionally  rainy summer, so I was  relieved when there was only a 30% chance of rain on their session day.  I reached our location early to scout things out, and just minutes after I arrived, an downpour began!   Kaycee & Jeremy were already on their way, so we decided to take a wait & see approach.  Thirty minutes later,  the storm moved out and our patience was rewarded with a beautiful sunshine filled session!

Their Story

 

Kaycee captured my heart as one of the most hard working and sweetest seniors I’ve been blessed to photograph.  She and Jeremy have dated since middle school!  They are such a sweet couple, and I loved seeing the way they care for each other.  As we started the session, they shared with me the story of how he picked out the engagement ring–he did a fabulous job!   He then  surprised her by proposing at her family Christmas.  She of course said yes! and looking forward to being married  to her best friend.

They spotted this absolutely stunning meadow as we drove around the park.  Such a gorgeous view!

 

 

The look so sweet and peaceful!  It was at this point, I looked down and realized I was standing in a beautiful lush sea of POISON IVY!   I know how to identify poison ivy and always make sure to look for it at this type of shoot, but I wrongly assume since their part of the meadow was clear, it all was.    We finished the set and immediately used hand sanitizer on legs.  I don’t know if this is an official “remedy” for poison ivy, but I was very thankful there was no awful rash!
