Riverside Engagement Session

I’m so in love with this riverside engagement session!  The bride-to-be is my niece, so I may be just a little biased. 🙂  When Heather asked me to be the wedding photographer for her and Zac a few happy tears slipped out.  Of course I said YES, I’d love too!

IT gurus

Zac and Heather are both those amazing people who thrive in IT, and have made it their profession.  I can work my camera and editing software, and that’s about it, so I am in awe of their abilities.  I’m sure I don’t really understand even a fraction of what they do.  Zac shared that computers are an that interest of his.   He loves to read, so he started pursing his interest to learn more and experimenting at home.  Soon he was a mostly self-taught IT  guy who was working in the field.  I’m extremely impressed!

Heather received some of her IT training and experience through her work with the National Guard.   Their love and knowledge of IT was what brought them together, as met while briefly working together at an Indianapolis tech company.  Heather shared, “One day I asked him out to a taco fest and we have been together ever since.”

Saturday mornings

Zac proposed at the end of June at one of their favorite Saturday morning events.    Here’s how Heather describe the proposal… ” For our engagement, we were at an event called Cars and Coffee.  It’s on Saturday mornings and we go as many summer Saturdays as we can.  Cars were starting to leave, so we headed to the edge of the event to watch.  I was telling Zac’s friend Mark that Zac has turned me into a car junky and I actually really enjoy these things now.  Then Zac dropped down and said “Well you may think your a car junkie now, but would you want to marry one?”.  It was perfect for us and Mark was there to snap a few pictures. ”

Zac and Heather live a couple hours south of us, so although they’ve dated for over a year I still don’t know them really well as a couple.  They seem really happy and very settled as a couple.  I’m looking forward to getting to know Zac better in the coming years.  I’m so thankful to see Heather so happy and enjoyed spending sometime with her and Zac.

Change of plans

I have to share a bit about their river side engagement session, this wasn’t what we had planned.  We planned a late-October session that was rained out by a torrential downpour.  Then  time changed and the temperature plummeted.  So we opted to do an engagement mini-session while Zac and Heather were in town.  Just a few for their save the dates.  As I scouted out for a place close to our house for photos, that was derailed by some extremely dedicated hunters–seriously they were there from dusk til dawn!  My sweet husband Joe took me to his favorite put-in for kayaking.  I’m so thankful he showed me his favorite spot.  We shot for just 20 minutes  in one small stretch just off the road that was about 1/8 of  a mile long.  I think we did a great job making the most of our time and location.

Enjoy a few of my favorites!

I pray Zac and Heather will almost have as much love and joy as they do in this last image!  Possibly my favorite.
