Sage Green and Navy Wedding

Congratulations to Alyson and Dustin!  They were married in a beautiful sage green and navy wedding at Orchard Ridge Country Club.  Before we even met I knew I was going to like Alyson and Dustin.  In emailing about the engagement session Alyson suggested we start by sitting down and chatting!  A couple who values the relationship aspect of the wedding photography process, as much as I do!  YES!!! 🙂  Their fall engagement session was so much fun, and I couldn’t wait for their spring wedding!

 

Wedding Day

Dustin and Alyson’s wedding day could not have been more perfect!  The temperatures were mild, with just a hint of a breeze and and beautiful blue skies!  Alyson was amazing!   When we arrived at Orchard Ridge she had all her details put in the welcome box I sent her and Dustin when they booked.  She was so prepared!    Having all the details together in one box made shooting her details so much easier!

 

First Look with Notes

Alyson and Dustin added a special element to their first look reading notes to each other, and it was extraordinary!!!  Their first look held so much joy and emotion!  It makes me want to write a blog post “101 reasons why you should share a first look”!  I don’t know that I can find words to truly express how special it was.  It was such a blessing to capture the emotion of the moments for them.  They impressed each other, they complimented each other, laughed, cried, hugged and kissed all more than once!  It was such a beautiful expression of their love and commitment to each other.

Dustin looked so dapper in his navy tux, and his hair looked especially good! Alyson was stunning, in her Grace Kelly like wedding gown.   She absolutely loved that her dress had pockets!  Let me tell you ladies, it doesn’t get better than a wedding dress with pockets!!! 🙂   She also had so many sentimental details!  Her belt and hair piece were was  her sister’s wedding dress.  She carried a handkerchief that was made by her great-grandma to carry in her own wedding.  The handkerchief has been carried by Alyson’s great-grandma (of course), grandma, mom and sister in each of their weddings.

 

Ceremony

Alyson’s sister, Alyssa served as both a bridesmaid and the officiant of the wedding.  Alyssa planned a meaningful ceremony that included talking about why we marry.  What a special gift to be married by your sister!  After the ceremony,  Dustin and Alyson enjoyed dinner, dancing and focused on enjoying their guests.   It was such a wonderful day!

 

Moments and Emotions

The day after their wedding I received the sweetest email from Alyson!   In her email she shared “Going into this day, I remember telling Dustin “if everything goes wrong on this day, there are two things I need to go right. First, we need to be married at the end of the night. Second, I want pictures that capture more than just the moment but also capture the emotion”. You both did that for us. You went above and beyond to make this day so special…made our day so easy and definitely the most memorable time of our lives…. We cannot thank you enough.”   She absolutely melted my heart!  That is what it’s all about!  Helping couples relax and enjoy their wedding day.  Capturing the emotions of their day, so they can look back on them for years to come and remember just how they felt they day the new chapter of their story began.
