Snowy Family Session

When Traci contacted me about the possibility of a snowy family session, we both wondered how the details would work.  Over a month with no snow, and Traci prioritized updated family pictures over snow pictures.  Traci sent me a message when snowfall was in the forecast and we began to hope…   Who ever would have guessed, that at the beginning of February we would have the biggest snowfall in the past few years!  The day of the snowfall however, it was too windy and snowing too hard for a photo session.    Of course after a large snowfall school was cancelled.  Cue perfect timing for a snowy family session!

Snowy Woods

A short hike through the snow and we were in a beautiful wooded location.  It was cold!  So we worked quickly to capture a variety of images,  putting coats back on in between.  Traci, Shane and kids were fabulous!   They were so fun and easy to work with and never complained about the cold!  I tried hard to distract them from the cold and make them smile with lame jokes.  My jokes are embarrassingly lame!  I think I need a joke book!

I love the way Traci and Shane look at each other.   After 17 years they are clearly still crazy about each other!   They keep busy with their work and with the many activities of the three kids.

Traci and their daughter enjoy watching cooking shows together.  Their favorite is the British Baking Show.  I have to say, I love that one, too!  Even though she’s still young, M’s favorite thing to cook is dinner!  Such a fun way to learn to cook, hanging out in the kitchen and cooking with your mom as you grow up.  Surely, they are making some fun memories together in the kitchen!

When I asked the guys what they enjoyed doing together, in unison all three answered “Baseball!”  Shane played as he was growing up and both boys play.  They also enjoy a variety of outdoor sports together.

I’m so blessed that Traci and Shane asked me to photograph their family.  I so enjoyed getting to know them all a bit!  They are absolutely delightful!  Thank you Traci and family for spending a bit of your evening with me and enduring the cold like champs!  Sit back with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy a sneak peak of this fun snowy family session.    Don’t miss the laughs and Dad faces at the end!
