Wedding Day Reminders

Wedding days are busy, but a few wedding day reminders can help make your day smoother and less busy.

Gather the details

If possible, collect all of your details before your photographer arrives.   This allows for more time to photograph details and have more time for “getting ready” shots of you and your girls!  A small shopping bag is a great way to gather many of your items a day or two before your ceremony and have them ready to go.   Some items to include:

  • all three rings
  • jewelry
  • veil
  • shoes
  • invitation suite
  • perfume
  • another other special items you would like photographed

A few groom details you may want to consider:  tie, tie clip, socks, cuff links

Extra Elements

Sometimes, depending on the theme and “look” of the wedding day, there may be some extra elements that you could include when you gather your details. For example, if you’re having a country themed wedding, you could include a piece of burlap or lace. If you’re having a rustic themed wedding that includes some wooden elements, maybe save a small piece of wood for me to use when I’m shooting your rings and jewelry. This REALLY makes for beautiful, consistent album spreads!

The Dresses

If you have special  hangers for your wedding dress and  bridesmaids transfer the dresses to those hangers.  This is an easy thing for the bridesmaids to do while they are waiting for their turn at hair and make-up.  It is such a huge time saver for me and I appreciate it so much!  All the dresses on decorative hangers displayed together makes such a beautiful picture!  I purchased a set just to be able to offer them for use to my brides.

I hope these reminders and a little advanced preparation help to make your wedding day morning smoother and less stressful!  They’ll also help insure you’re photographer has plenty of time to capture beautiful detail shots!  The brides in the images used in this post rocked it!
