Why Capture Wedding Day Details

Details, details, details.  Why Capture Wedding Day Details?

de·tail
dəˈtāl,ˈdētāl/
noun
plural noun: details
  1. – the small elements that collectively constitute a work of art  -Merriam-Webster.com

I love this definition of details!  It is at the heart of why its important to take the time to capture the details on your wedding day.  More accurately,  why it’s important to make sure you and your photographer have worked together to allow adequate time for the details to be photographed on your wedding day.

By the time your wedding day arrives, you have likely spent months or even a year planning all the aspects of your big day!  You have looked forward to this day for so long!  At the end of the day, you’ll have a spouse, so many wonderful memories and your photos.  In the weeks, months and years to come I want you to be able to look back on your wedding photos and feel like you’re reliving your big day- the start of your marriage- all over again!   To truly portray your story,  it’s important your photos tell a comprehensive story of you day.

Documenting your Day

Details help document the story of your day.  How you got up early for a hair appointment, so your hair would be amazing, and you’d still have plenty of time before the first look.  The excitement you felt all your girls helped you into your dress and then mom finished with the buttons.   Dad giving advice as he  helped straighten the groom’s tie and helped with the cuff links. The exchanging of rings and the unity ceremony.   The best man speech that made everyone cry!  The very first dance as husband and wife.   Each little moment has such a special place that helps paint a picture of your entire day.

But really, those little moments weren’t what I was thinking of when I titled this post.

Telling the Story of You

I was thinking of the details you spent months planing.  Maybe you spent days, or weeks, agonizing over your wedding dress, or colors… Maybe you and your family and friends spent hours working on creating special pieces of your wedding day.  Your wedding is a celebration of the beginning of your life together as a married couple.  It’s also an expression of who you are as a couple.  In corporate those things that make you, you into your special day.

Does he love baseball?  How about bat mugs as a gift for you the guys standing up with you…I can tell you they are super cool and everyone loves them!   Maybe a custom made home plate sign for your guest book.

Do you love to paint and create?  I’m sure you can find a design you like on Pinterest and make your own guest book sign.  My hat will be off to you, because my best painting, is splatter! 🙂  Your guest will be in awe, too!

Do you have a friend who knows floral arranging?  Make your own bouquets….  I also had a bride who was so blessed to have her grandmother make her wedding dress!  What a special treasure!

These are just a few of the ways you might incorporate who you are in to the elements of your special day.  When the day is over, you’ll have the love of your life by your side and your wedding pictures.  When those details are captured in your images, they help tell the story of your day as your wedding album unfolds.  These little details, combine together to create a work of art in your wedding album, telling the story of your day, so you can feel like you’re reliving it again every time you open the cover.

Enjoy a sampling a few wedding details, because they are just oh so beautiful!
